Technical Info
All information given is for guidance only. For further advice, please contact a qualified electrician.
All sizes given are approximate and in the case of ceiling lighting, excluding chain or ceiling plate. Sizes are shown in centimetres, the abbreviations are: H= height, D= diameter, P= projection, L= length, W= width.
Light bulbs are included in all products sold by us unless otherwise stated in the product information.Wattages given are the maximum and must not be exceeded. They can however be reduced.
B22 (bayonet cap, 240V), B15 (small bayonet cap, 240V), Dicroic (12V halogen spotlight), E27 (large Edison screw, 240V), E14 (small Edison screw, 240V), G4 (12V halogen capsule), G9 (240V halogen capsule), GU10 (240V halogen spotlight) GY6.35 (12V halogen capsule), R7S (240V halogen tube, 78mm or 118mm).
Do not use dimmer switches for fluorescent, energy-saving bulbs or fans (unless specified for this use), the dimmer switch will eventually burn out.
For best results on products incorporating integral low voltage electronic/Toroidal transformers, we recommend using fully electronic inductive dimmers incorporating low interference design.
Products using mains voltage halogen bulbs (GU10, G9 and R7S), follow the guide below.
Max load on dimmer switch label Max load for mains halogen
250W 150W
400W 250W
1000W 500W
Dimmer switches must not be overloaded! It is quite normal for dimmer switches to run warm and for you to hear a slight buzzing noise coming from the dimmer switch when in operation.
